A global EMBA program gives the students a chance to get both a degree as well as international experience at the same time. Students are often given the opportunity to take classes in multiple countries and/or continents by business schools who have more than one campus and/or has a partner school abroad.

Admissions
Those holding a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university are eligible for consideration for admission. In addition, applicants should have 8 years postgraduate professional experience and have the quantitative aptitude needed to succeed in this rigorous program.

The Global Executive MBA is a one class, two track program. Participants can choose to begin their program with an emphasis on either Europe or the Americas. As the program progresses the two tracks fully integrate, further enhancing the diversity of the class.

Participants are expected to be fully dedicated during the residential sessions and devote an average of 15-20 hours/week between them.

Admission Process
The Global Executive MBA is a selective program that seeks high-caliber participants from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and as class size is limited, applicants are encouraged to apply early.

Admitted students can defer their program participation for up to one year until the next programs start date.

Admission Requirements
– Completed online application.
– Two letters of recommendation. One recommendation must come from a current immediate supervisor. The second letter may come from a past or present employer, client/customer, etc.
– University transcripts. You must submit one original transcript from each institution from which you have been awarded a degree. Transcripts should reflect course work, results and degree awarded. Certified translations are required for transcripts in a language other than English.
– Letter of company support indicating that your employer understands the time commitment and travel necessary to complete the program.
– Clear copy of current valid passport.
– One digital photograph.
– GMAT. The test could be requested by the Admissions Committee, based on the candidate’s profile and CV. GMAT can be waived for applicants with 15 years of experience or more, depending on background and experience. GMAT waivers will be strictly evaluated by the Admissions Committee on a one-to-one basis.
– English Language Test: Required for all candidates who are not native English speakers. The requirement may be waived for those with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an English-speaking country.

INSEAD offers a modular Executive MBA programme across three fully integrated campuses: Europe (France), Asia (Singapore) and the Middle East (Abu Dhabi). With three routes, depending on the starting campus, GEMBA offers experienced executives an intensive 14–17-month fast track to the top – via one of the world’s most prestigious and multicultural academic institutions.

There is one GEMBA intake per year, divided into three regional sections, comprising around 180 participants and representing over 50 nationalities in total. The Admissions process is the same for all GEMBA applicants, whether they apply for the Asia, the Middle East or the Europe section. However, application deadlines are different as the sections start at different dates.
INSEAD is looking for applicants who can demonstrate their potential as leaders. We will consider your professional experience and past performance when assessing your application. Participants in our current class have an average of 12 years work experience, at least three years in a management role in charge of teams and/or projects. More important than the length of your experience, however, is the quality of your accomplishments and motivation through career evolution.

The strength of you application form will be evaluated based on your professional profile and 4 essays. The essays will ask you about your objectives, proven leadership skills and your idea for a Capstone project. It should provide a detailed account of your industry experience.

Application step 3: Interview

Darden’s Global MBA for Executives (GEMBA) is designed for experienced managers who seek to further their international careers while continuing to work full time.
The 21-month program is taught by the same top-ranked faculty that teach in the other Darden degree programs and focuses on preparing students to be globally ready — ready to manage a business in an international setting and ready to lead an organization that does business in multiple countries. Darden achieves this aim by both the global content of the curriculum and the context in which we deliver it.

Requirements
The University of Virginia Darden School of Business executive MBA admissions application is considered complete when all of the following items have been submitted.

The online admissions application includes core data about yourself, as well as an essay response and your résumé.

Application Fee – There is a $250 application fee that is required to submit your online application.

Recommendations
We require two recommendations that address the questions asked on our online recommendation form. After you have contacted the recommenders about providing the recommendation, complete the form on the recommender’s page of the online application. We will send them an email message with instructions and a web address to visit in order to complete your recommendation. We strongly advise that one letter come from your direct manager or supervisor.

Transcripts
We require transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate work completed. You may upload an unofficial copy of your transcripts into your application. If you choose to accept an offer of admission from Darden, you will need to mail us an official transcript.

Company Support Letter
At a minimum, this letter from your employer should acknowledge:
–  Your interest in participating in the program
–  Its applicability to your career advancement
–  Your company’s support of the time commitment required to participate
The letter can include information on financial support being provided, although this is not required. This letter must be signed and submitted on company letterhead. You can view a sample company support letter to help you get started.

GMAT or GRE Score
You can self-report your unofficial GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) scores on your online application. The Darden code for the Executive MBA program is KC7-OX-30. You may also email a copy of your unofficial score to ExecMBA@darden.virginia.edu. As an alternative to the GMAT, a Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score will also be accepted.
In a very few exceptional cases, a waiver of the GMAT may be granted to candidates who hold an advanced degree in an analytic field. To request a waiver, please email your résumé, academic transcripts and standardized test scores to ExecMBA@darden.virginia.edu.

English Language Test Score
For candidates whose native language is not English, a score from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required. The TOEFL may be waived if you completed university study at a school in which English was the medium of instruction or if you have several years of professional experience in an environment where English was the language spoken and written. Requests for a waiver of the TOEFL can be made directly to the executive MBA program office.

Interview
Qualified applicants will be invited to interview after their application has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Interviews play a critical role in our assessment of candidates and are required prior to acceptance into the program. All interviews are conducted by a members of the Admissions Committee. Candidates living in the U.S. are required to interview on the Darden Grounds. Applicants living abroad are welcome to interview on the Darden Grounds, but are not expected to do so. International interviews are conducted via Skype.

EMBA-Global, the partnership between Columbia Business School, London Business School, and the University of Hong Kong, provides high-caliber, globally-focused managers the insight, expertise, network, and multifaceted perspective to translate opportunity into action.
EMBA-Global Americas and Europe
Columbia’s pioneering program with London Business School, EMBA-Global Americas and Europe, offers monthly classes alternating between two hubs of global business, London and New York. Students earn two full MBA degrees and alumni privileges from each school.

EMBA-Global Asia
Expanding its partnership in 2009 to include the University of Hong Kong, EMBA-Global created EMBA-Global Asia, the first executive MBA program located on three continents. With most classes taking place in Hong Kong, students earn an MBA conferred jointly by the three schools, as well as full alumni privileges at each school.

Application Requirements

Employer Sponsorship
Applicants to EMBA-Friday/Saturday and EMBA-Americas are required — regardless of the level of financial support from their employer — to submit a signed sponsorship letter from an authorized representative of their organization, briefly stating the terms of support. Financial sponsorship is not required, but the organization must agree to keep the applicant’s travel time to a minimum and completely release him or her from all job responsibilities on class days. Learn more about the sponsorship requirement. Sponsorship letters must be uploaded into the online application system.
EMBA-Saturday applicants are not required to attain employer sponsorship of any kind, though it is welcome.

Transcripts
Applicants have two options for providing the Admissions Committee with records of academic work:
1. Submit official transcripts from each college and university attended as a registered student.
2. Scan and submit PDF versions of unofficial transcripts from each college and university attended as a registered student.
Applicants who submit unofficial transcripts and are offered admission will be required to provide official transcripts upon acceptance. If there are discrepancies between the self-reported academic work and official records, offers of admission will be rescinded.

Essays
Applicants must complete one short answer question and three essays.
Recommendations
The Admissions Committee requires two letters of professional appraisal. If possible, one recommendation should come from your current supervisor.
Note: all recommendations must be provided electronically. After you have contacted each reference about writing a recommendation and completed the form on the recommendations page of the online application, an e-mail will be sent with instructions and a web address your recommenders must visit in order to complete your recommendation. You will be notified via e-mail when an online recommendation is received.

GMAT or GRE Score
All applicants must submit a self-reported GMAT (preferred) or GRE score. Scores are valid for five years. Your scores must be valid when you submit your application.

Interview
Interviews are required for admission to Columbia Business School. Once your online application is complete and under review, you may be contacted by a member of the Admissions Office to schedule an on-campus interview. Please keep in mind interviews are by invitation only.

International Applicants
International students who do not have a degree from an institution in which all instruction is conducted in English must take either the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the PTE (Pearson Test of English). You may be exempted from the TOEFL or the PTE only if you have earned a degree from an institution in which English is the language of instruction. We will not accept requests for exceptions to this policy.
The TOEFL and PTE scores are valid for two years. Your TOEFL or PTE score must be valid when you submit your application.

Application Requirements

Applicants must apply separately online through the UCLA Anderson and National University of Singapore applications.

  • Provide official transcripts – include transcripts from all educational institutions attended.
  • Send two letters of recommendation – Letters of recommendation must be submitted on-line through the UCLA portal. You must register your recommenders through UCLA portal, who then use the confidential on-line link they receive directly from the UCLA online application. Your recommenders also have the option to upload an additional document if desired.
  • Submit TOFEL/IELTS scores – Applicants must include TOFEL/IELTS scores if they hold a bachelor’s (or higher) degree from a university located outside in the United States, Australia, Barbados, Anglophone Canada, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand and United Kingdom.   • GMAT Scores (optional) – It is highly recommended that candidates whose prior academic work might not show clear evidence of strong quantitative and logical reasoning skills to submit results of their GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test). The admissions committee may ask applicants to provide GMAT scores after pre-review of their candidacy.
