Michigan Ross MBA deadlines for 2026–2027

All applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

Ross says it evaluates each round equally and recommends applying when your application is strongest. International applicants may still prefer an earlier round when extra visa-processing time would be helpful.

Michigan Ross essays for the Class of 2029

Part 1: Career Aspirations (300 words)

Prompt: What is your short-term career goal, and how do you plan to leverage the Ross MBA and its program offerings in your first role after graduation? Be specific and answer both parts.

ARINGO strategy: Define a precise first post-MBA role, connect the skills gap to named Ross resources, and explain how you will apply those resources in that first role. Relevant options may include Multidisciplinary Action Projects, the Living Business Leadership Experience, student investment funds, studios, clubs, and courses. Use only the resources that genuinely support your plan.

Part 2: Impact and Growth (200 words)

Choose one of Ross’s three current prompts:

• Think of a time something important did not go as planned. What did you do next?
• What is something you worked on for more than six months that ultimately produced a positive outcome? What kept you committed?
• Share a specific situation in which your actions created a positive impact on a community or an individual.

ARINGO strategy: Select the prompt that adds the most useful new dimension to the application. Focus on one concrete episode, show your decisions and behavior, quantify or describe the outcome, and finish with the growth that will shape how you contribute at Ross.

Optional essay (250 words)

Use this only to explain a genuine application outlier, such as an employment gap, academic issue, recommender choice, or supplemental coursework. Be direct, factual, and concise; Ross permits bullet points.

Tests, application materials, and interview

Applicants may submit the GMAT, GRE, or Executive Assessment. Qualified candidates may instead provide a Statement of Quantitative Academic Readiness focused on quantitative academic, professional, and analytical evidence. The application also includes transcripts, a current resume, recommendations, the required essays, and a $250 application fee unless a stated waiver applies. Interviews are by invitation only and are conducted by a Ross alum or current MBA student.
