MBA Launch is designed to help Class of 2014 students be better prepared for the upcoming time crunch that occurs in the fall/winter when academic commitments and recruiting demands typically collide. Through our collective experience in career management, we’ve consistently heard MBA students (particularly career switchers and international students) from all business schools express a wish for a program like this to give them time to explore career options and design a strategy before getting on campus.

Our team of four industry experts will present the following:
•    David Ohrvall (Founder of Crack the Case, and former Bain Consultant) will do a 2-hour module on Consulting, covering everything from what is consulting to getting students an introduction to case interviews
•    Trevor Nelson (Private Equity professional and Interview Trainer at Training the Street) will do a module on Finance careers (i-banking, private equity, investment mgmt, venture capital etc), including an overview of the technical skills needed to master a Finance interview
•    Michelle Antonio (former head of Wharton’s career mgmt center and current career coach at HBS, Darden, and Columbia) will give an “insider’s perspective” of the MBA career management process
•    Jennifer Chow Bevan will be giving a module called “Marketing, Management, & Beyond” and will cover the main functions and industries that MBAs pursue, basically everything outside of Consulting and Finance. We will talk about how do assess your interests and fit for a particular role, how to communicate your value, and start developing a strategy for recruiting.

Here is an in depth outline of our agenda for the day:
